The Nehru Nagar police nabbed a 40-year-old woman for allegedly training her own son and his teenage friends for house breaking and chain snatching. She also trained them to scale walls and trespass into houses through windows.
In a major breakthrough, the Nehru Nagar police successfully arrested a woman who was an expert in house breaking robbery. The 40-year-old woman who was known as ‘mai’ (mother) was arrested by the Nehru Nagar police on Feb 6, after her son was caught for robbery.
According to the police sources, the incident came to light after the complainant, Ajaz Ansari (40), approached them to register a complaint against four unknown kids who allegedly entered his house through window and robbed valuables.
In his complaint, Ajaz Ansari (40), stated that they have a garment factory and so he used to return home usually only after 12.00 am. On the day of the incident, he returned home with Rs.35000 in his shirt pocket from the factory. After dinner, while he and his wife were sleeping, they heard some noise from the other room. They got up and looked around to find four children running out of their house. They screamed for help but it was futile. The boys managed to flee with two mobile phones and money.
The police officials initiated their investigations and within a week, as per description given by the complainant, the officials nabbed the 12-year-old boy. During the interrogation, he confessed that they were a gang of three boys and they had entered the house of Ansari and robbed the valuables. He also revealed that his mother had taught them how to scale walls.
The investigating officer- S.G.Rathod, speaking to Mumbai Protector said, that they were shocked to know that Kusum Gupta had been training teenage boys to climb walls and make human pyramids to break into houses for robbery. She targeted boys in the age group of 12 years to 14 years with kleptomania and then trained them to scale walls and trespass into different homes through windows.
The boy has been sent for psychological examination and the police is now on a lookout for boys who were gang members and also suffered from kleptomania.
