Dear Readers,
Just a few days back, I assumed charge as the Director General & Inspector General of Police, Karnataka State.
I am happy to know that the aim of the Protector magazine is to connect and strengthen the bond between the police and the community. It is important that our Police Stations be perceived as centers of services and reassurance to citizens, and this is possible through close interaction. For effective policing in these challenging times,when the face of crime has completely changed, it is important that the Police connect with the
community. I appeal both to the Police force and the public to work hand in hand with each other as close and co-ordinated effort of the Police and the community will certainly curb the crime rates. I assure that the state police is dedicated to the cause of providing safe and secure environment to the people of Karnataka. I compliment the Karnataka Protector magazine for focusing on this important aspect of community policing. The content of the magazine are very informative and interesting. I take this opportunity to appeal to all of you to contribute and support the magazine which can become an effective tool of connectivity through print and web versions. I hope the Karnataka Protector magazine will be a platform to establish and maintain Police-Public relations.
