A new office of Kolkata Police’s community outreach project ‘Pronam’ was inaugurated in Tollygunj. Under this project, welfare and security of senior citizens staying alone in the city are taken care of. The police provide medical aid and security to them in coordination with local police stations. In addition, a liaison office regularly visits them to take care of their needs. Senior citizens are also involved in sports and cultural activities to remove their loneliness. The opening of new office help in wider reach and better service to the elders of the area.
